2. Data we process
We process identification and contact details, date of birth, driving licence details, booking and rental information, payment and deposit records, correspondence, vehicle condition records, digital rental contracts and vehicle location data. Identification documents are checked. Any document copies collected must be necessary and supported by an appropriate legal basis; the obligation to register customer data does not itself mean that a complete ID copy must be retained.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Enquiries, bookings, identity and driver eligibility checks, rental delivery and contract administration are processed to take steps towards or perform the rental contract. Statutory rental registration, reporting, accounting and driver identification are processed to comply with legal obligations. Vehicle protection, recovery and the handling of claims may rely on legitimate interests, subject to necessity and a balance with your rights. Marketing requiring consent needs separate consent; accepting a rental contract is not marketing consent.
4. Vehicle location: Apple AirTag
Our vehicles use Apple AirTag through Apple’s Find My service for vehicle protection and recovery. This is item-location technology, not a built-in GPS system or a continuous route-history service. Drivaro retains any location records it stores for no longer than two months from collection. Access is limited to authorised staff for the relevant protection or recovery purpose. Apple’s own service and privacy terms apply to its processing.
5. Recipients and service providers
Relevant data may be shared with partner pickup locations, insurers and assistance services to fulfil the rental or handle a claim. RentingPal supplies the online booking environment. Hosting, digital contract, payment and location service providers may process data for their respective services. Competent authorities receive data where required by law. Only data needed for the relevant purpose should be shared. Provider identities, roles and any international transfer safeguards must match the services actually used; information can be requested at preguntar@godrivaro.es.
6. Retention
The statutory electronic rental register is retained for three years after the rental ends under Real Decreto 933/2021. This does not set a universal three-year period for all data. Contracts, invoices and claim records are retained for the applicable legal and claim periods. Enquiries and document copies should be deleted when no longer necessary, unless lawful retention is required. Location records stored by Drivaro from Apple AirTag are retained for no longer than two months from collection.
7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing where applicable. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Send your request to preguntar@godrivaro.es; we may need proportionate identity verification. You may also complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos at www.aepd.es.
8. Website services
The contact form opens your email application to send an enquiry; email and WhatsApp services apply their own privacy terms. Booking data entered in RentingPal is handled within its booking environment. Our Cookie Policy explains the website services and storage technologies.
9. Website analytics
Drivaro uses Google Analytics to understand website use and improve the site. Depending on configuration, this involves technical and interaction data, including pages viewed and cookie identifiers. Analytics requiring consent relies on your consent, independently of booking. Google processes data for this service under the applicable agreements.
